Performance of the subwoofer to produce low bass sounds and also of course supported by a solid enclosure or box subwoofer. Box subwoofer in the car usually has a different size, it is tailored to the recommendation of technical data from the subwoofer. However, each audio installer, have different styles in the design box.
If during this, SO'mers only know if its just kind of box that's it, it did not. Box consists of various types and models. Design, size (dimensions) and a subwoofer box models are usually clearly taken into account at the time of manufacture, even carefully designed too often acted the Installer.
Obviously, each type of box has a value of advantages and disadvantages, all models of boxes, if applied correctly, clearly gives the performance of the subwoofer becomes very maximum.
Following this, the types of subwoofer box that is often applied in car audio:
A. Sealed Box
Form of sealed using volume calculations to help reduce and control the change. Usually, this model has a box room that is not perforated. Form of sealed box bass thumper is believed to provide a smooth and precise response. So for lovers of audio cosmetics typically use this box type the following to install subwoofer reverse (inverted).
Pros: Small Box, capable of great exertion, the right response, easy to make, can avoid mistakes in the making.
Disadvantages: limited efficiency.

Disadvantages: limited efficiency.
B. Vented (ported)
Form box model like this using holes or ports, these holes serve to increase the output of low frequency, the air inside the box out like a piston or a motor, air displacement stage it can enlarge the frequency subwoofer. Box model is commonly used in the SQ or SPL system.
Pros: Able to increase efficiency, supporting low-frequency output, a small distortion.
Disadvantages: The size is large, there is no control tuning frequency, making the box a bit difficult.

Disadvantages: The size is large, there is no control tuning frequency, making the box a bit difficult.
C. Infinite Baffle (free air)
Subwoofer attached to the surface by separating the wave front with the rear, this form does not require a large size. Box model is often used for the sedan type vehicle.
Pros: very low resonance, the use of the place is not too large.
Disadvantages: The output is limited, usually very difficult to reinforce the front wave from the rear.

Disadvantages: The output is limited, usually very difficult to reinforce the front wave from the rear.
D. Isobaric
Model using two subwoofers with attached face to face, with one cable system in the opposite. Broadly speaking, consists of two isobaric subwoofers, two amplifiers than half the size of the box.
Pros: The size is very small, low distortion
Disadvantages: The efficiency is very small, small size for the recommended size for two subwoofers.
Pros: The size is very small, low distortion
Disadvantages: The efficiency is very small, small size for the recommended size for two subwoofers.
Two subwoofers mounted in box meetings, this is to increase the volume.
Pros: Easy to make for a split size.
Disadvantages: The difference data output from each driver, this is more flexible form without additional reinforcement.
Pros: Easy to make for a split size.
Disadvantages: The difference data output from each driver, this is more flexible form without additional reinforcement.
F. Aperiodic
This model uses the outer membrane to minimize the impedance of the subwoofer and flatten out.
Pros: There really is not the size, the response is very thin.
Disadvantages: low efficiency, typically require a large subwoofer. Making difficult and need tuning right

Disadvantages: low efficiency, typically require a large subwoofer. Making difficult and need tuning right
G. Reflex bandpass
Form that is placed into the form of sealed ports to obtain a lowpass filter. This is to add efiesiensi to use bandpass or frequency of the model. This form consists of a single reflex bandpass and dual reflex bandpass. Both of these boxes are not the same need of tuning.
Pros: Very efficient for bandpass, can be made to increase frequency, increase power output. Ideal for low power energy.
Disadvantages: Distortion High, subwoofers easily damaged, its size is relatively large and very difficult to manufacture.
H. Labyrinth
The shape of the transmission line (kind of box in which there are bulkhead to provide a large output), this form uses the port, there is a bulkhead inside the box.
Pros: Can produce a maximum output at a particular frequency
Disadvantages: Difficult to make, the large size is not practical.
