Hyundai Poised Sales Record in March

We all know that Hyundai and its sister company Kia have been on a roll these past few years introducing one vehicle after the other and constantly increasing their sales footprint in markets all around the world. So it shouldn't come to as a shock that Hyundai is poised to break its all-time record for monthly sales volume in the U.S. in March, even though we still have a few more days left.
According to the South Korean automaker, its March sales in the United States will surpass 65,000 vehicles, which accounts to an increase of more than 5 percent over March 2011 when it sold 61,873 cars, setting a new all-time monthly record for the company.
"March is shaping up to be our best sales month ever," said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America's executive vice president of national sales.
"We expect to sell 50 percent more of our 40-mpg highway vehicles than we sold in March 2011 as customers recognized that Hyundai is the place to shop for the best selection of high mileage cars" he added.

Hyundai Elantra Sales Soar to 216,331 Units in the U.S. and Canada in 2011

|
While the economic climate may not be ideal, Hyundai is enjoying a success this year in North America as it has eclipsed the 600,000 annual sales mark for the first time in its 25-year U.S. history. Leading the way in both Canada and the USA, is the redesigned Elantra that saw its sales increase by 43 percent, from 151,735 deliveries in 2010 to 216,331 this year, setting an all-time record for the model series.
"[The] Elantra has been an absolute phenomenon in the compact car segment," says John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America President and CEO. "In November, Elantra retail sales were up 37 percent, in spite of significant competition from all-new entries such as the Chevy Cruze, Ford Focus and Honda Civic."
The new Elantra has also proven to be successful in Canada. Steve Kelleher, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp, commented: "The Elantra continues to fuel record sales in Canada. The Elantra's Fluidic Sculpture design, advanced safety features and fuel efficiency make it the perfect car in our market."
Hyundai's future plans for the Elantra include the presentation of a two-door coupe model that one of our readers recently spied in California and which is expected to launch next February at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.

New Car 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

The 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe should see no major changes following its freshening for the 2010 model year. This is the smaller of Hyundai's two midsize crossover SUVs. Santa Fe likely will seat five and be available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. GLS, SE, and Limited trim levels should be available. Standard on the GLS and Limited would be a 175-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine.

Standard on the SE and optional on the Limited would be a 276-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. A 6-speed manual transmission likely will be standard on the front-drive GLS. Optional on that model and standard on all others would be a 6-speed automatic. Available safety features should include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. Seats made from a cloth and leather combination might be standard on the SE and Limited. Heated front seats would be standard only on the Limited. A sunroof likely will be standard on the Limited and optional on the GLS and SE. A navigation system and rearview camera might be available on all models. We have not yet tested the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe.

An early prototype of Hyundai's Santa Fe has been updated spotted in testing. Through the heavy camouflage a new, prominent grille more can be seen that Bears a resemblance to the 2010 Hyundai Portico prototype. Completing the update at the front is a set of new headlights and a re-designed bumper and lower fascia.

At the back new taillights through the Disguise Reveal Indonesia Hari Jadi Kabupaten along with a slightly updated rear bumper. Sources claim that the 2.4-liter 4-Cylinder engine from the Hyundai Sonata may find its way into the 2010 Santa Fe range alongside a 2.7-liter and a 3.3-liter V6.
