Excelent Ford B-MAX Opens Up to Us, Shows its Sliding Doors

Ford continues the slow strip tease of its all-new B-MAX small MPV prior to the production model's grand premier at the 82nd Geneva International Auto Salon in the beginning of March. This time we get a full-blown photo of the B-MAX's innovative hinged front doors and sliding rear doors that integrate the central body pillars, which Ford called "Easy Access Doors".
The design allows for 1.5-metre (close to 5 feet) wide unobstructed openings on either side of the B-segment multi-activity vehicle.
“Door systems like this have been a designer’s dream for many years,” said Stefan Lamm, exterior design director, Ford of Europe. “We have taken the concept from an idea on a designer’s sketch pad, to a stylish and versatile product on the showroom floor.”
To make sure that the car offers the same crash protection as any other vehicle with a B-pillar, especially in the event of a side impact, Ford's engineers used special ultra-high-strength steels that provide up to five times the strength of conventional mild steel in key parts of the body and doors, without adding extra weight.
“We engineered the body to keep all the benefits of the new door concept, while making the structure strong, stiff and light,” said Darren Palmer, Product Development Quality Director, Ford of Europe. “Creating a strong, stable body is great for handling. The B-MAX is just as stiff as the latest Fiesta, and will be just as fun to drive too.”

Upgrading Your Car Audio System

Upgrading Your Car Audio System-gtk
Upgrading the audio system of your car is a great way to try to get the most out of your vehicle. Comfort and luxury while riding in your vehicle is one of the most important traits about your car, and having a good sound system is definitely an important aspect of that. Upgrading your audio does not necessarily have to be a pricey endeavor — it all depends on whether or not you want to just add some car audio amplifiers or a massive surround sound unit.
Upgrading Your Car Audio System-gtk1
A great thing about upgrading is that you will have your own top quality mobile audio system. Wherever you go, you can take this portable system with you, always ready to blow you away with top quality sound.
Here is some advice for the next time you find yourself buying a car audio system:
Take note of the size of your ride. It might be great to buy a super-sized car audio subwoofer, but if would be a big problem if you could not fit it into the interior of your car. When adding speakers, look at your car and determine where you want to put them. If possible, you may want to get some professional advice as well.

Factor in your budget. How much money you have to spend will determine both the performance specs of your audio as well as the brand. Preferably, you should try to find a reputable brand that you can trust for your car audio speaker system, and any car audio woofer or amplifier you may have.
Find a good store. If you are looking to purchase your audio upgrade online, make sure you find a good website to buy from. You may want to look at different forums for customer reviews before making your purchase.

Unpack your new system carefully. Be sure you check all the parts to be sure that nothing is damaged or missing. If you find any device that is missing or not functioning properly, contact the seller and return the part as soon as possible.

Have the installation done right. Now you may want to try to install your new audio system yourself, but I would highly recommend that you invest in some professional help. Unless you are a very electronic savvy person with experience in audio upgrading, you will probably end up with a mess of wires and multiple holes in your car. It is almost always smarter to just find a car audio shop and have them do it for you.

The Wald International tuner shows us that not only Europeans know to tune a car. Wald International is one of the most important luxury tuners from Japan. Wald doesn̢۪t tune only the premium cars, but they also presented many exceptional kits.
The Japanese don̢۪t care too much about the technical changes, but they work a lot to obtain a very good looking car. It is the same with the new exterior kit for Mercedes S-Klasse, named Black Bison Edition Sports Line.
The car has the series engine, of 525 hp, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
I hope you will enjoy the beautiful photo gallery!

New VW Beetle gets a 39mpg Diesel Variant in the States

At the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, Volkswagen will reveal the most fuel-efficient version of the new Beetle in the States, the TDI, which is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of peak torque. The same powerplant is offered on the North American Jetta and Passat TDI models. The diesel engine can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or VW’s dual-clutch DSG six-speed automatic, with the German automaker predicting a fuel economy of 29 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.
That's a significant improvement over the base 170HP 2.5-liter gasoline engine that returns an estimated 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with a five-speed manual, and 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway with the optional six-speed auto.
It’s worth noting that the previous Beetle was offered in the States with a 1.9-liter diesel engine from 1998 until 2006.
The new Beetle TDI meets current tailpipe emissions standards in all 50 states and will go on sale in the U.S. this summer as a 2013 model, with prices to be announced at a later date.
Customers can choose from three trim levels, TDI, TDI with Sunroof, and TDI with Sunroof, Sound, and Navigation.
The base model comes equipped with power windows, 17-inch rims, audio system, cruise control, V-Tex Leatherette seating, the kaeferfach secondary glovebox, Bluetooth, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with audio controls, three auxiliary gauges, keyless entry with push-button start and a Media Device Interface with iPod cable, as standard.
The equipment upgrades on the other two models are pretty much self-explanatory.

New Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition

Do you remember the MX-5 Sport Black Edition launched in Britain last summer or perhaps its twin from Japan, the MX-5 Black Tune Edition released this past October? If the answer is yes, we would like to congratulate you on your excellent memory and tell you that the 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition that will be unveiled at the upcoming 2012 Chicago Auto Show is more or less the U.S. market version of those two models – hence the RHD pictures released by Mazda.
The main difference is that the American model will not be offered with the Spirited Green Metallic that's available on the Japanese and British variants, as buyers will have to make do with two color options, Crystal White Pearl Mica or Velocity Red Mica.
Like its two siblings, the MX-5 Miata Special Edition features a black-only Power Retractable Hard Top (PRHT) with matching color 17-inch alloy wheels and exterior accents such as the mirrors.
Inside you'll find black heated leather seats with accent stitching, piano black interior finishes and alloy pedals.
The special edition will be available with either the six-speed manual gearbox with or a six-speed Sport automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, both linked to the regular 167HP 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
The manual gearbox model gets Bilstein shocks, limited-slip rear differential and sport-tuned suspension.
Mazda said production of the MX-5 Miata Special Edition would be limited to 450 units with pricing to be announced.
